Ducal Palace

The Palace was built between 1470 and 1480 for Federico da Montefeltro by Francesco di Giorgio, who created a residence defined by his contemporaries as “magnificent and sumptuous”. The original splendor can be guessed through the elegance of the elements that survived the dispossession that culminated with the alienation in 1874 of the famous Studiolo, today in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.

The Palace, purchased in 1905 by the State, houses paintings documenting the figurative culture in the Eugubina area, including plates by Pietro Lorenzetti and Taddeo di Bartolo, and a section of contemporary art with works by Leoncillo, Pomodoro, Castellani, Lewitt.
